Flagstone is a popular choice and can give your pathway or edging a very natural look. Flagstones are thin, flat stones that are irregularly shaped. They’re ideal for an earthy, natural look in your garden. The biggest drawbacks of using flagstones as garden paving slabs are that they’re prone to chipping and staining, and usually much more expensive than man-made materials.
There are many different types of paving slabs, including concrete, acrylic, stone, etc. Acrylic paving slabs, like concrete ones, are laid out as one big slab. However, this material is of a more delicate nature so it gets used in areas that are a bit smaller than ones used with concrete slabs. The stone, clay, and natural slabs can be used in numbers to form one paving slab. And color can be added to whatever tints are already in the slab itself. Most of these paints are based in acrylic.
It’s not just the trees, plants and lawn that make the garden beautiful, the paving slabs and bricks are also involved in the beautification. Traditionally the slabs were made of concrete, however these days the slabs are available in a wide range and array of materials. These materials include limestone, granite, sandstone etc.
The look of slate can’t be beat when you’re dealing with any number of projects, in all different settings, whether rustic, or modern, there is a cut or color of slate to be found that will make the project look great. The subtle changes in the color throughout the stone, and the different look you can get from a different angle looking at the same piece make the possibilities endless when you use slate in your project.
