Laying block paving is not an easy thing to do. Many people choose to hire contractors to do the work for them but some enterprising and handy souls find it in themselves to do the work on their own. If you decide to travel down this path it is absolutely imperative that you follow the correct steps in the correct order.
This block building is highly resistant to extreme weather conditions. Thus, hurricanes, floods and high winds will have little impact on a building built using this kind of block. Yes, the interiors will be damaged, especially when it comes to flooding, but the structure of the building will remain intact and damage will be significantly reduced.
These are fairly small paving blocks which fit together in various ways to create an overall pattern which suits your home and taste. Another popular method for building a driveway is to use gravel, or shingle, in a loose way. This is also good for security as you will hear the distinct sound of the gravel when someone walks on it. You could also go for a concrete driveway, these will be cheaper to build, and offer a hard wearing, durable surface, but I must say, don’t look the best compared to a block paved driveway.
Once you have set all the stones, available online at Midland Stone, you need to fill any gaps with concrete and wait another 72 hours to let everything settle down. Once everything is set you are going to remove any excess materials from the area and power wash your gorgeous new block pavement. After the mandatory 72 hour period feel free to walk on your block paving, move materials like chairs or tables onto it and just generally enjoy it- you earned it.
