The most common walls are made of masonry while hedges are made out of plants like keiapple and bougainvillea. Most hedges add to the aesthetics of the compound when they bloom. One important thing to remember is that the wall should complement the building.
A block building that is concrete will be more cost effective than a home using bricks but will offer the same level of energy efficiency. This is especially important in Australia’s hot climate since these blocks tend to keep interiors cooler for longer, by trapping the cool air inside. This means that you will save a bundle on power consumption and heating, as the mass of the blocks not only keeps heat out during summer, but retains heat indoors for longer during winter.
After this you need to start to clear a canal around the perimeter of the sub base you have just set. This canal needs to then be filled with quick dry concrete and leveled off. Once the concrete has dried you grab whatever edging blocks you decided to purchase and put them around the edge of the perimeter. Take a straight piece of lumber and a carpenters level to make sure each edge stone is level and straight. After this you need to wait for no less than 72 hours for everything to become level and set. Avoid the urge to mess with the pathway or it will not set properly.
If you are thinking of ways to improve your home you may want to consider getting a driveway built to enhance it’s monetary value. A word of warning here, if you choose a bad building company or attempt a DIY method if you have no experience in building driveways, then it could go horribly wrong and you could end up with which does the opposite of enhancing your home!
